The VCF coach gave his assessment of the game against Sporting
Valencia CF coach Marcelino García Toral gave his thoughts on the game against Sporting in his post-match press conference, late on Tuesday night.
“We had the intention of winning and we didn't manage to. The dressing room are really hurt, because the results aren't coming.
"We need to get out of this situation with character and courage. It's a two-legged tie and I think we should have won this game. We had more chances on goal, and clearer chances; in the first minute we had the clearest chance that I've seen in six months."
"The second half was poor. We had two really good chances to go ahead, and the opposition scored from a set piece. We need to analyse what happened, because its a repeat of previous situations. We've had a lot of chances over the past four months that we haven't been able to put away."
"In the second leg we will try to play, finish our chances and go through. Now we have to regroup and beat Valladolid. Nobody will ever see me throwing in the towel."
