An impressive start to the second half of the LaLiga season

Valencia CF are on a positive run in two competitions

Valencia CF's 2-2 draw with FC Barcelona continued their impressive start to the second half of the LaLiga season, in which they have earned 7 points from a possible 9 so far.

A whirlwind few weeks in the Spanish top flight have seen the club battling on two fronts throughout January, as the Copa del Rey has occupied their attention in midweek. Marcelino's men have progressed to the semifinal stage of that competition, and will take on Real Betis this Thursday in the first leg.

VCF are unbeaten so far in the second half of the league season, with wins against Celta Vigo and Getafe adding to the point earned against leaders Barça. Their only defeats have come in the cup, which they have been able to turn around in the return fixtures

Fortune in front of goal -a problem for the team towards the end of 2018- appears to have returned, as in the past month they have found the net on 16 occasions in all competitions.

Highlights on the field of course include the Copa del Rey comebacks against Sporting Gijon and Getafe CF, but in LaLiga there has also been an important climb up the table -leaving Valencia CF just 2 points off the European spots and 6 off the Champions League positions.
